* the following traceroute has a different hop/changed nodes - a little better thank you Suddenlink for listening ! However 173 is still much higher than normal -- get me back to a playable 75 ping and Ill go away !! lol (but seriously we were at 25 to 30 for two months ... but Id at least be able to enjoy my internet with 75 - will keep posting in the mean time - VA is closer than NY so yay for a little more ping joy -

Well its 6pm I just got off work and came home - the ping is already to high to allow me to play, yet another day without HIGH SPEED internet from Suddenlink, I cant see how these guys can just keep on going on like this - they have to know that they are loosing customers this way...

I REALY do want to stay with Suddenlink and am happy that they are aware of the problem, I'm just hoping to get my ping back to where it used to be!

ALMOST there Suddenlink! Im glad to hear that you are working on the issue - I have heard from contact with east coast Managers that you are slightly "overcommited" and are working on buying more bandwith soon - that and some needed routers are on order - so I have been told - thank goodness you are commited to having good service for your customers - unfortunatly he said there is no expected ETA of when the problem will be resolved - though I was assured you are trying !

Timeouts and Retransmits can be expected with this provider... I had cox for years .. and when suddensucks took over nothing but problems.. you call the service center and get someone that just knows how to click a mouse... has know idea what your talking about.... here is the problem... you network sucks .. I have 22 hops to google with a ping of over 280 to google.. I can no longer play online games.. I have 42 hops to gamespy servers.. with 80 to 100 percent packet loss.. on ever hop after the first 3.. the higher up network tech's haven't a clue how to fix these probs.. I have service guys saying its just heavy traffic..not at 2am.. this is much worse than dsl.. and I will be switching over 3 accounts back to dsl.. and then get a dish for tv viewing..when the top of the ladder is clueless..then there is no hope.. I have given suddenlink a year to get it going but it is just worse.. last night I had no service for 9 hours.. then today its on but with "massive packet" loss and "ping times"..they will try to blame your system.. I have more puter knowledge than most of the sudden sucks techs..I will be glad when this company is bought out or somthing is done to make it right. your ads say play online games.. I would like to see this ..please come and play a game online with my connect that costs 130.00 a month..and my other house across town has the same problem.. it is the network and its screwed beyond repair..I dont even want to bother with calling service center.. "because you get no support" do this unplug that haw far are you from the wall..do you use a splitter..please.. call cox and have them fix your network and then leave it alone..because you guys have no clue....yes I am mad and think your company sucks.. the service sucks ..the product sucks.. and even the cable television sucks.. my fox news channel constantly repeats words to the point I cant watch it.. DO YOU HERE ME IT REPEATS WORDS..!..SO FIX IT AND AND IF YOU CANT ..THEN TELL SOMEONE WHO CAN.. IT IS NOT A SATALITE PROBLEM.. WHICH I WAS TOLD..AND DOES IT A CERTAIN TIME OF YEAR.. IT DOES IT EVERY FRICKING DAY..! IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT GETTING SUDDENLINK..DO NOT YOU WILL BE VERY SORRY..! AND HAVE PROBLEMS ALWAYS..!

I work at the call service center. I won't argue that this company has no sense of itself, and that most of the upper chain needs to be replaced. However, I'm here to say that half of you that call are extremely rude, and all you want to do is raise your voices, and swear at us. We're already under a ton of restrictions from the company, and are unable to do alot more then check the status of the modem.....that's the reason the upper management should be replaced. They tie our hands, and don't allow us to do EVERYTHING we can to help. I sympathize with half the people that call (not the others that are blaming us for a router needing a reset). I do know this company made a serious mistake when they bought out Kingwood Cable, Cox, and Cebridge with no plans to upgrade the old networks. Suddenlink is trying to push alot of bandwidth through a network that wasn't designed to handle that much. That once again, falls on the upper management to stop biting off more then they can chew.
As for the gentleman that went on a rant about how we here at the call center are "idiots". As I said earlier, we can only do so much here due to management not allowing us to do more. Is that our fault? I don't think so. I personally won't go against company policy because if I lose my job, then how does my family eat? Can I expect the customers that I do everything I am ALLOWED to do to pay my bills? I understand, and sympathize that THE COMPANY has made some serious errors in purchasing companies that weren't up to date in terms of technology. I'm here to say that calling us, and cussing/swearing/and being downright rude to those of us that really are trying to help is not going to make anything better. So try listening, and letting us do our jobs. I won't apologize for the company. They made the mistake, not me, or anyone else on the phones. I will say that we don't deserve to be treated the way we are everyday due to intolerant, rude, and downright cold hearted individuals who obviously have anger management issues. We work hard, long hours, trying to do everything in our power to help. We can't always fix everything over the phone, but we do everything we can with the limited tools we are given. So try remembering that next time you have to call due to upper managements incompetence.
P.S. Mr. Muskogee......"here" is actually spelled "hear" in that situation. Before you want to make rude remarks about the employees at the call center, I would suggest you take english grammer courses again. =)
Yet another day goes by and NOT one of the Techs on DSL reports who offered to help have written me back, I swear you would think they could at least follow up on following up what they said they would already follow up on but you know what there was no follow up can you believe it? ?
